  6.   This is a guide for all those people
  7. that  (incorrectly)  thought  that all
  8. the best movies come from the good ol'
  9. US  of  A.  They do, don't they...NOT!
  10. Anyway,  over the last few years there
  11. have  been  a  lot  of good, damn damn
  12. good and not so good movies being made
  13. across    the   studios   of   Europe.
  14. Admittedly,  most of these films would
  15. fall  into  the "arthouse" bracket but
  16. that is not necessarily a bad thing as
  17. a lot of these movies have a freshness
  18. and  serene  beauty  sadly  lacking in
  19. Hollywood  movies.  One of the current
  20. Hollywood  trends is remaking European
  21. movies ie.

  60. critics  but I personally didn't think
  61. it was anything special.

  82. sado-masochism   but  none  of  it  is
  83. actually  shown on sceen which adds to
  84. the movie's effect.

  104. atmosphere that all french movies seem
  105. to have.  Excellent.

  124. Assassin" last year.  The original has
  125. the  edge  over the remake in terms of
  126. style  and  technical  merit  but  the
  127. remake   has   more   action   and  is
  128. undeniably   exciting.   Anyway,  this
  129. version gets...

  146. death  and is most entertaining.  This
  147. story  revolves  around the trials and
  148. tribulations  of  a  housewife and her
  149. wacky  family and neighbours.  Bizarre
  150. but never a dull moment.

  215. contraversial movies of recent years.

  280. Almodovar's   best  films  and  highly
  281. recommended.
